Guillermo G. Garayar-Leyva
In 2013, he received his bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), Lima, Peru. As a member of the Microelectronics Group of the PUCP (GuE-PUCP), he presented his undergraduate thesis on a SoC solution against smart card attacks. He was selected as representative of the Latin American region in the International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia 2014. During 2015, he belonged to the Rural Telecommunications Group (GTR-PUCP) where he participated in a FINCyT-funded project that researched and implemented an air quality measurement system for urban and rural areas.
Guillermo is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Analog & Mixed-Signal Center at Texas A&M University, USA. He has also been a recipient of the Jack Kilby Excellence and Silicon Labs IT Fellowships. In 2018 he participated as an intern at Silicon Labs in the IoT area. His areas of interest are in the area of mixed signal, specifically BIST systems, synthesizers, RF circuits and biomedical applications.
Ruth Canahuire Cabello
PhD and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas, UNICAMP
(2014) in the area of solid mechanics and mechanical design. Mechatronics Engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, UNI (2006). She is currently Director of the Department of Electronic Engineering and Mechatronics at the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología – UTEC. She has experience as a university lecturer at undergraduate and postgraduate level and in the development of research projects obtaining national and international funding in the area of modelling and control of mechanical and mechatronic systems, mechatronic systems and mechatronic systems, medical robotics, robust control of mechanical systems and mobile robotics. Some of his projects are in collaboration with foreign universities such as Purdue University (USA), MIT (USA), University of Campinas – UNICAMP (Brazil) and The University of Liverpool (UK).

Among his topics of interest are: Signal and image processing, bioengineering and biometrics, human automation, automatic control, artificial intelligence and aerospace technology.
Miguel Nuñez Del Prado Cortez
He is a researcher at the Centro de Investigación-CIUP and professor in the Academic Department of Engineering at the Universidad del Pacífico. He holds a PhD in Networks, Telecommunications, Systems and Architectures from the Toulouse Doctoral School of Mathematics, Computer Science and Telecommunications (MITT) of the University of Toulouse (France). He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications with a specialisation in Networks from the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Toulouse (INSA Toulouse, France) and the National Higher School of Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Hydraulics and Telecommunications (ENSEEIHT, France). He also holds a Master’s degree in Management with a specialisation in Innovation Strategy from the Institute of Business Administration (IAE) of the University of Capitole Toulouse I (France); network and telecommunications engineer from INSA Toulouse and Telecom Brittany (France); and systems engineer from the Andean University of Cusco (Peru).
He has been a data scientist at INTERSEC (France) and an evaluator for the National Council for Science, Technology and Technological Innovation of Peru. He has also advised technology transfer projects in Technology Parks. He is currently president of the non-profit scientific association PERU Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación (PERU IDI). In the academic field, he is part of the re-reading committee of the Symposium on Big Data Management (SIMBIG) and of the Andes Congress (Andescon).

Gidy Florez Navarro
Gidy Florez Navarro, is an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer from the Universidad Autónoma del Caribe, Colombia. She completed her Master’s degree in 2012 and PhD in 2016, both in Electrical Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She participated between 2017-2021 as a researcher at the Brazilian Center for Physical Research (CBPF) conducting a joint project with the research centre of the company Petrobras (CENPES) in the area of oil and gas. Since 2020 she is part of the Latin American Institute of Technology (ILATTEC) as a professor in the area of antennas for 5G.
Her research areas are focused on simulation and fabrication of microwave and radiofrequency devices, printed antennas in millimetre wave bands (5G), metamaterials and electromagnetic characterisation. She is a member and volunteer of IEEE since 2007, where she has participated in various positions in Colombia and Latin America. She is currently a board member of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Latin America as Student Activities Coordinator, member of the IEEE R9 (Latin America) Humanitarian Activities Committee, representative for Latin America of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Young Professionals group, and co-founder of the Brazilian Society of Metamaterials (SBMETA). In 2020 she participated in the IEEE HAC funded project “Engineers Assisting Ventilator Maintenance” against COVID-19 in Rio de Janeiro which received the IEEE MGA Achievement Award. In 2021 he received the IEEE Latin American “Student and Young Professional Activities Prominent Supporter Award” for his outstanding work with IEEE student groups and Young Professionals in Colombia and Rio de Janeiro.

Gisele Astorga Viveros
Gisele has an MBA in Strategic Business Management and a degree in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on Electric Power Systems. Currently, as a Regional Manager at ENGIE Latin America, responsible for the Project Management Office (PMO) and Intelligence in the business development area. Hugo Hernandez Figueroa
He graduated in Electrical Engineering (1982) and majored in Mathematics (1983) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, obtained a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (1988) and a Master’s degree in Computer Science (1989), from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.

He has published more than 130 papers in international indexed journals, mostly IEEE and OSA. Co-editor of the books: Localized Waves (Wiley & Sons, 2008) and Non-Diffracting Waves (Wiley-VCH, 2013). He was awarded the IEEE Millennium Medal in 2000 and the Scientific Merit Medal in 2013 by the Sociedade Brasileira de Microondas e Optoeletrônica (SBMO). He acts as area coordinator (Engineering I) of FAPESP since 2014. He has supervised 17 post-doctoral projects, 33 PhD theses and 58 MSc theses. Associate Editor (Integrated Optics) of the EEE / OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology (2004-2009) and Associate Editor (Nanophotonics) of the IEEE Photonics Journal (2011-2017). According to Google Scholar, his papers have been cited more than 3700 times and he has an H impact factor equal to 30.

Pedro V. González Castellanos was born in Cúcuta, Norte de Santander, Colombia. He graduated from the Colegio Municipal de Bachillerato. Aurelio Arbildo López
Aurelio Arbildo López is a Chemical Engineer graduated from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos with a Master of Science and Doctorate in Engineering (Ph.D.) in Nuclear Engineering from The University of New Mexico (Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA).
He is currently a professor of Industrial Automation and researcher at the University of Lima and General Manager of Sociedad Inducontrol Ingeniería SAC, a company dedicated to process control and industrial automation.
